The Dreaded Disney Trip

Every family has that one unforgettable moment, and ours was a recent trip to the enchanting world of Disney. With our two daughters, Addison and Emerson, in tow, we embarked on our first family vacation to Disney World. To say that we were a little apprehensive would be an understatement. Neither of our girls had ever been fans of the twisty rides at the local carnivals, and my husband was less than thrilled about the prospect of navigating through large crowds. Also, being a Type A planner by nature, it's unusual for me to venture into a major trip without an intricately detailed itinerary. However, this Disney World adventure was an exception, and I couldn't be more delighted about it. Our Disney World experience was nothing short of magical. 

We went into this trip with a go-with-the-flow attitude, which was a significant departure from my usual planning tendencies. Surprisingly, the spontaneity of the experience added an extra layer of excitement. While my husband and I weren't sure how our girls would handle the thrill rides, it was a pleasant surprise to see them eagerly hopping on attractions like the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Space Mountain at Magic Kingdom. Their delight replaced their initial apprehension, and it was heartwarming to witness their newfound courage and excitement.

One park that stood out as a family favorite was Epcot. The combination of immersive experiences and educational adventures was a hit with all of us. The Passport Game offered the girls a unique way to explore the world, learning about different cultures and traditions as they collected stamps from each "country" in the World Showcase. One of the major highlights was the exhilarating Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind ride. With its thrilling twists and turns through the cosmos, it was a favorite for both our oldest daughter and my husband, who's a big kid at heart.

Our first trip to Disney World turned out to be a transformative experience for our family. The girls overcame their fear of thrill rides, my husband discovered his inner child once more, and we all reveled in the magic. I learned a trip can be great without all the stressful detailed planning which really allows yourself to be immersed in the moment verse what your phone is telling you to do. The memories we made will be cherished for a lifetime, and we can't wait to return to Disney World for more enchanting adventures in the future. I don’t think we turned into the multiple trips a year family, but it will be on our trip list for sure. Disney truly is a place where dreams come true, and we are grateful for the unforgettable moments it brought to our family.
